Analytics Platform Pursuit Will Close, Team Picked Up By Twitch
By Zac Cameron ·
The popular analytics platform Pursuit will be closing down in a few days, as the team prepares to join Twitch.

The team behind the popular analytics product Pursuit has been hired by Twitch, announced CEO and Founder James Sun. Pursuit is a third-party analytics program that looked at the data from Overwatch games and gave users feedback following the match. According to Sun, the Philadelphia Fusion and the Atlanta Reign were just two of the big-name organizations that utilized the program, along with many of the pro players competing in scrims before the Overwatch World Cup.
Blizzard made the announcement to ban the use of Pursuit for Overwatch back in September, along with other analytics program Visor, stating that they were in violation of Blizzard’s End User License Agreement. Players that were using the programs were given warnings that continued usage of the programs could result in more permanent punishments, including bans.
Now, the team will transition to a new product working with Twitch. What this means unfortunately is that the Pursuit team will be shutting down the program as of December 17th, 2018. “Turning off any service is difficult and we’re so grateful to all our users for their support,” wrote Sun in the announcement post. “We could not have made it this far without the help of our investors, friends, partners and users. You’ve all helped to make this journey incredible and we are excited to keep building products and experiences that you’ll love as part of the Twitch family.”
