The Swedes have beaten all comers to claim a nice end-of-year bonus in the finals of the PLG Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi.

Fnatic have managed to clinch victory in one of the last competitive events of the year, claiming victory at the PLG Grand Slam finals to secure a pretty nice payday on top of ending the year on a high. The semifinals of the event proved to be a hotbed for excellent Counter-Strike action, concluding with a dominant win for Fnatic.
The first semifinal match saw Fnatic take on forZe in a best-of-three that certainly went the distance. Fnatic faltered early, as forZe picked up the first map, Mirage, 16-14. The second map, Overpass, went back in Fnatic’s favor as they cleaned up 16-4. The final map was a back-and-forth affair that ultimately went the way of Fnatic 25-23 after an intense overtime showdown.

The second semifinal match saw G2 Esports eventually overcome Sharks Esports. The Sharks put on a show early on, picking up the first map, Train, 16-6. G2 Esports were able to bounce back strong however, as they picked up map two, Dust2, 16-4, followed quickly by the third map, Nuke, 16-0 to set up a grand final clash with Fnatic.
The finals themselves were over relatively quickly, as Fnatic claimed the first map, Dust2, 16-11, followed by the second map, Mirage, 16-14. And with that, the series was over with Fnatic claiming the grand prize of $70,000 and the ability to rest knowing they ended the year with a big win.
