Many members of the community for the latest entry in the popular Nintendo fighting game franchise began to have a sense of curiosity and confusion on Tuesday, December 1st when a group of popular Super Smash Bros. Ultimate YouTubers began to post videos focused on the Wendy costume for the Koopalings character who is not known for being one of the strongest characters in the title. This led to the mysterious project attracting plenty of eyeballs to its videos.
These satirical videos vary from the likes of "How to Play Wendy" to a montage calling for the character to be nerfed. However, the videos are not of a serious nature and provide plenty of meme worthy content that has brought plenty of attention to the alternate version of the Koopalings character in the Project Wendy campaign.
Community speculation has suggested that the Project Wendy content for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was created by the collaboration between a group of popular YouTubers through a Discord server created by YouTuber Alpharad for individuals who create content for the Nintendo fighting game franchise.

It remains to be seen what are the exact reasons behind the creation of the Project Wendy content, but the series of meme worthy content has brought the Koopalings character that does not get as much love as many other characters on the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster into the spotlight and will likely have many players trying their own hand at trying out the character and its now popular costume.
