By Zac Cameron ·
One of the most popular League of Legends teams out there has picked up a new high-profile sponsor just in time for the LEC to kick off.

Origen have entered into a three-year strategic partnership with Audi, just in time for the LEC to kick off later this month. Origen parent owner RFRSH Entertainment said that “yet-to-be announced esports and digital entertainment projects” with Audi are also expected over the course of the three-year deal.

While the exact financial details of the partnership were not revealed, Jakob Lund Kristensen, RFRSH Entertainment co-founder, said that details of a “more strategic” part of the partnership is expected in the future.
“Through our work and continuous dialogue with Audi, it is obvious to us that besides being a top professional organization on all levels dedicated to quality and innovation, they are dedicated to contributing to the development of the esports scene and the way it is viewed and consumed today,” Kristensen said in a statement.
This new partnership will likely help Origen as the LEC transitions to the franchise model already present in the North American LCS. As the NA LCS transitioned to the franchise model, many teams began to develop their own training centers for their players, resulting in a perceived increase in professionalism. This deal between Origen and Audi is expected to help the organization develop training facilities that the team can use in the coming competition.
