By Nicholas Barth ·
Popular Twitch streamer shroud recently responded to a new video by YouTuber PewDiePie regarding streamers abusing the copyright claim tool on YouTube.

Michael "shroud" Grzesiek and Felix "PewDiePie" Kjellberg are two of the most popular content creators in the world with shroud having one of the most viewed channels on the streaming platform of Twitch and PewDiePie holding the title of most subscribed to YouTube channel. These two high profile personalities recently crossed paths in a recent PewDiePie video that focused on what PewDiePie believed to be many streamers abusing the copyright claim tool on the video platform.
In the the video titled "STOP DOING THIS!", the YouTuber explained his thoughts on what he believed to be the hypocritical nature of streamers who will copyright strike YouTube channels that use footage from their streams but then go on to react to YouTube videos while streaming on Twitch. He also explains that the fair use of content is healthy for the content creation ecosystem, as it helps to give exposure to all of the parties involved.
In order to show an example of this, PewDiePie showed a clip of former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player shroud watching one of his videos on his Twitch stream and how the streamer did not work to try and make his original content from his reaction.
After finding out that PewDiePie had featured himself in a video of his, shroud was excited to see that he had made it in a video for the most popular YouTube channel in the world. While the YouTuber clarifies that the message of the video was not specifically directed at shroud, he did notice that shroud was not subscribed to his channel and made sure to let him know that he should be.
Hearing this call out by PewDiePie for not being subscribed, shroud goes on to subscribe to PewDiePie's channel and mentions how he had already been subscribed on his other seven YouTube accounts.
With YouTube being filled with videos that contain clips of popular Twitch streamers and Twitch often consisting of streamers watching YouTube videos when they are live, the interaction between PewDiePie and shroud was an interesting case of seeing this dynamic between the two popular content creation platforms in action.
