Summit1g Passes Ninja in Number of Twitch Subscriptions

The year of 2018 saw Tyler "Ninja" Belvins take over the popular streaming platform of Twitch with his streaming of Fortnite Battle Royale that consisted of the streamer breaking numerous records for the platform in terms of viewership, subscription and follower numbers. While 2019 has been more of the same for the Fortnite Twitch star of Ninja, veteran Twitch personality Jaryd "Summit1g" Lazar has recently surpassed his fellow content creator in total Twitch subscriptions.

According to third party API tracker Twitch Stats, Summit1g currently has 43,219 subs at the time of this writing. In comparison, Ninja currently has a total of 41,955 subs on the platform.

With viewers able to purchase subscriptions in three different tiers that award additional perks, a tier two subscription counts as two regular subs with a tier three subscription counting as six tier one subs.

Summit1g has seen a great deal of growth recently with his stream, as his exciting adventures in the open world pirate game of Sea of Thieves have been drawing a great amount of viewers. Known for executing adrenaline pumping raids to steal from his enemies on the high seas, Summit1g has become the most popular streamer in the Sea of Thieves community and has in return been surpassing many of his personal streaming records.

Somehow breaking personal records on the daily, thanks again for the support dudes. Insane.

The rise of Summit1g passing Ninja in total subscriptions is made even more impressive considering that Sea of Thieves is nowhere near as popular as Fortnite with the battle royale title being arguably the most popular video game in the world currently.

It would not be surprising to see Ninja and his streaming of Fortnite propel the content creator back in front of Summit1g in the future when it comes to total Twitch subs considering the immense draw that Ninja and Fortnite command on a daily basis. However, the former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player turned Twitch streamer of Summit1g has for the time being surpassed the recent ESPN The Magazine cover athlete that is Ninja.
