What Match To Watch As The LCS Kicks Off For Spring 2019
By Zac Cameron ·
The North American League of Legends Championship Series is back for Spring 2019, and if you can't catch all the games, here's the one match you should definitely check out.

Finally, after many months, the NA LCS is returning to our screens. Now just the LCS, thanks to some rebranding in Europe, the top teams of North America are once again ready to do battle on Summoners Rift for glory and bragging rights as the Spring Split kicks off this weekend. While there are a ton of games to watch, we understand that not everyone will have the time to check out every single one, so here’s our game to watch for the weekend, if you only have time for one game.
The opening match of the season is our game to watch for this week, as defending LCS champions Team Liquid take on the most successful international team North America has produced, Cloud9. Both teams have made some pretty significant roster changes in the off-season, none more significant than Team Liquid stealing away Cloud9’s mid laner Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen, however.
Team Liquid has been considered the best team in North America for a while now, after their total roster revamp that saw them secure Yiliang "Peter" "Doublelift" Peng, Jung "Impact" Eon-yeong, and Jake Kevin "Xmithie" Puchero to turn their former reputation as something of a joke into a team of pure talent. Adding Jensen and Jo "CoreJJ" Yong-in for 2019 only makes their roster stronger, as they hope to turn their domestic success into international success as well.
Cloud9 on the other hand, stunned fans with their roster changes last year, and turned what everyone assumed would be a losing franchise into the most success a North American team has achieved at the World Championships to date. While they have lost Jensen to Team Liquid, their acquisition of Yasin "Nisqy" Dinçer means they aren’t lacking in skill in the mid lane. Really the only thing Cloud9 needs to do is make sure their roster works well together, lest they are forced to once again make drastic changes to inspire their players. You can catch all the action when the LCS kicks off at 2pm PT on Saturday the 26th. Team Liquid vs Cloud9 will be the opening match of the season, so strap in for an exciting game.
