LCS Wraps Up Week One Of The Spring Split

What a weekend of games in the LCS! After so long without any official tournaments we can finally see our favorite pros once again take to the rift and do battle. We’ve seen some amazing games so far, and we’re sure to see even more in the months to come. Here’s a brief breakdown of the games from Day Two of Week One.

Flyquest – OpTic Gaming

A pretty interesting match to kick off the day, with both of these teams coming in hot for a fight. It’s truly unfortunate that there can’t be more than one winner when it comes to League of Legends, with both of these teams putting forth their best efforts in this clash. Flyquest took the match in the end, but don’t think this will be the last clash between these two teams.

Cloud9 – 100 Thieves

Cloud9 may have suffered yesterday against Team Liquid, and it looks like they opted to take out their frustrations on 100 Thieves today. Nisqy probably needed this kind of game to get into his groove and start meshing with the team, and it’s just unfortunate that it comes at the expense of 100 Thieves and their own rebuilding process.

Team Liquid – CLG

The outcome of this match was never really in doubt, with Team Liquid coasting to a fairly comfortable victory over CLG. It’s hard to imagine that just three years ago CLG were easily on top of the NA LCS, but then this isn’t really the same CLG from three years ago. Fans will have to keep faith just a while longer it seems.

Clutch Gaming – TSM

An exciting match yesterday means that TSM has to lose today, can’t have the fans getting too excited after all. Clutch Gaming seem to be coming up pretty strong with their new roster, it’ll just take some time to see if they can keep their momentum flowing.

Echo Fox – Golden Guardians

Echo Fox are on the board, and the Golden Guardians are still struggling. It’s weird watching this GGS team struggle, given the potential of their team, but they just can’t seem to mesh together properly and turn their individual skill into team cohesion. Better luck next time GGS, and GG to Echo Fox for their pretty easy win today.

The first week is now done and written into the record books. Some of these teams have clearly “won” the off-season, and some need to do some more work before they can start putting wins on the board.
