Mortal Kombat 11's Kano Confirmed Playable

When it comes to Mortal Kombat, there’s just some characters you have to have, and another one has just made their way to Mortal Kombat 11. Those looking to get their Black Dragon treachery on will be thrilled to know that Kano has just been announced for Mortal Kombat 11’s playable roster.

NetherRealm Studios announced Kano via the Mortal Kombat Twitter on January 31, 2019. We don’t have much to go on just yet other than a first look at the assassin with his signature laser eye faceplate and knife intact, but with Kano announced, we can surely expect to see footage of the character in action fairly soon.

Greed personified.

What will be interesting to see is how NetherRealm Studios handles Kano in Mortal Kombat 11 with the new systems in place. In Mortal Kombat X, Kano’s fighting style revolved around command grabs in Commando style, knife combos in Cutthroat, and laser attacks in Cybernetic. With a host of changes including the replacement of X-Ray moves by Crushing Blows and a story that runs back the timeframe of the game again, it will be interesting to see what becomes of Kano’s fighting styles in the new game.

Recently, NetherRealm Studios delayed a Kombat Kast which was also slated for January 31, 2019 due to weather concerns. It’s possible that we’ll finally see Kano in action in the rescheduled Kombat Kast on February 5, 2019. With new gameplay on the way, we’re sure to got a solid glimpse of what our pal Kano can do at that time. Until then, we have our first look of the cybernetic mercenary.

Be sure to check out all of the other characters comfirmed for Mortal Kombat 11 as well! Has your favorite made it in yet?
