Genesis 6 Wraps Up Weekend Of Action In Oakland
By Zac Cameron ·
The top players from the Smash community have finished battling it out to determine who reigns supreme, for now.

It’s been an exciting weekend for Smash fans, with Genesis 6 providing some of the best action we’ve seen in quite a while. Players from around the world competed in the three main Smash categories, with Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64, Super Smash Bros. Melee for the GameCube, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch. Here’s a brief breakdown of the results from each of these main tournaments at Genesis 6.
Super Smash Bros. 64
The finals of the Smash 64 tournament came down to the wire as “k y s k” took on Josh Brody in the grand finals. “k y s k” would take the first two games fairly handily with his Pikachu, before Josh Brody picked up the next two games with his own Pikachu. The final set came down to the wire before “k y s k” picked up the win, claiming the series 3-2.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Hungrybox is again on top of the world, taking down Axe 3-2 in the grand finals of the Melee tournament. Axe picked up the first set with his Pikachu, before H-Box picked up the next two sets with Jigglypuff. Axe was able to bounce back and claim the fourth clash to even things up, before Hungrybox claimed the final showdown on Battlefield to end the series and claim the tournament.
Congratulations again to your #SSBU #G6 Singles Champion!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
The finals of the Ultimate tournament were as close as they can possibly be, with MKLeo of Echo Fox bouncing back from the loser’s bracket to claim the Grand Final over VoiD in back-to-back sets. The first series was easily claimed by MKLeo 3-1 as he pitted his Lucina against the Pichu of Axe. With the series now level, a second best-of-five set would be played to determine the overall winner of the tournament, a match series that would again go to MKLeo as he took down Axe 3-1.
With Genesis 6 now in the books, the competitors will now turn their attention to the next Smash tournament series, as the quest to be the best continues.
