Luminosity Release Fortnite Player Kreo for Scamming Controversy

The rise of Fortnite Battle Royale has seen a vast array of players be signed to professional esports organizations in order to compete for a share of the massive $100,000,000 prize pool Epic Games is currently funding the esports scene of Fortnite with. However, the rise of Fortnite has also led to plenty of controversy surrounding players being scammed for large sums of money that had been invested in cosmetic items connected to Fortnite accounts. These two topics recently merged in a situation that has seen Luminosity Gaming release professional Fortnite player Nate "Kreo" Lou from the organization after the player had been alleged to be at the center of a scamming accusation.

Thursday, February 7th saw YouTuber The Fortnite Guy post a video to their channel where they accused the former Luminosity Gaming player of scamming another player, who was only identified as Noah, out of $100.

The situation allegedly saw Noah contact former Luminosity Gaming player Kreo and ask the professional player to play on his account in order to win matches for him. Kreo allegedly went on to agree to play on the account of Noah to secure wins for the player and offered to sell Noah various other accounts that had valuable cosmetic items within them.

The video by The Fortnite Guy states that Noah apparently tried to contact the former Luminosity player Kreo to gain control of his account back. However, the video alleges that Noah was unable to contact Kreo and that he was no longer able to access his account or get a refund of the money he had paid Kreo. Shortly after, Luminosity caught wind of the exchange and took action.

Update: Effective immediately @LG_Kreo has been released from the organization. We do not condone his behaviour, past or present and it is not consistent with what it means to be a professional gamer under our banner. We wish Kreo well and thank him for his time on LG.

Luminosity Gaming posted a the recent above announcement on its official Twitter account stating that the organization had made the decision to release Kreo from its professional roster.

With this kind of activity going against the terms of service of Fortnite, it remains to be seen if Epic Games will take any action against Kreo.
