Apex Legends Bug Is Handing Out Free Wins

A bug has been discovered in Apex Legends that has the developer scrambling to find a fix ASAP. Posted on Reddit just a couple of days after launch, the bug is stopping players from leaving the drop ship at the beginning of the game, and subsequently preventing them from taking damage. As the game slowly winds down, the players on the drop ship remain where they are, and the map slowly closes in on the remaining squads before ultimately killing them and handing a free and easy win to the bugged players.

“I was on a squad that cleaned everything and checked every corner in the last two circles, and yet we didn’t find anyone,” said Reddit user Ochkoman. “After we died from the zone damage the game said that someone else had won.”

The developers behind Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment, are well aware of this issue and are hard at work fixing the problem. One member of the dev team reached out to the affected players to ask for more details via personal messages, though at this stage the dev team has not given an indication of when the bug might be fixed. It’s still very early days for Apex Legends, and despite the severity of this bug, the game has had a remarkably smooth launch with less issues reported than you might expect for a Battle Royale title. We can only hope that this issue is fixed as soon as possible as well.
