Did Dr DisRespect Take a Jab at Ninja after Twitch Rivals Apex Legends Event?

Tuesday, February 12th saw the first major tournament take place for the new battle royale title of Apex Legends in the Twitch Rivals Apex Legends Challenge tournament. Featuring 48 streamers from Europe and North America playing in 16 teams of three for the lion's share of the $50,000 prize pool that was up for grabs for each region and early competitive Apex Legends bragging rights, there was plenty of motivation for all of the competing players to come out on top. Following the conclusion of the Twitch Rivals tournament, however, some members of the gaming community believed that Guy "Dr DisRespect" Beahm had thrown some subtle shots at his tournament opponent of Tyler "Ninja" Blevins after the event had concluded.

Ninja was able to capture the Twitch Rivals Apex Legends tournament victory with his teammates of King Richard and Dizzy with a 1st place finish, while Dr DisRespect and his teammates of TSM Viss and RealKrafty finished the event with a 5th place finish. Following the end of the event, Dr DisRespect posted on his official Twitter account stating that it "Felt good to play with my normal crew of friends/streamers".

Felt good to play with my normal crew of friends/streamers in @RealKraftyy and @TSMViss. 12 wins, 15 games, tons of kills, and lots of autographs signed.

While on the surface the Twitter post by Dr DisRespect looked like nothing more than him expressing the good time he had competing in the Twitch Rivals Apex Legends tournament. However, speculation began to arise that Dr DisRespect was throwing a subtle shot towards Ninja regarding the player playing with King Richard and Dizzy, as Ninja does not routinely play with the two players on a regular basis and teamed up with the two NRG Esports players in order to have a better chance of winning the event.

This led to a discussion of Ninja having to be "carried" by his teammates in order to have claimed the championship of the first Twitch Rivals Apex Legends tournament. Others went on to squash this notion of Dr DisRespect throwing shots at Ninja citing that Ninja has played with King Richard in multiple tournaments and that the two players playing with Dizzy, who is a member of the same esports organization as King Richard, is perfectly reasonable.

Dizzy holding the solo kill record for the battle royale title also fueled the notion that Ninja and King Richard had only teamed up with Dizzy because he was a talented player compared to other streamers who were competing with their normal group of players.
