Origen Hand G2 Esports Their First Loss Of The LEC
By Zac Cameron ·
After an impressive 9-0 first half of the LEC Spring Split, G2 Esports have suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of Origen.

It had to happen eventually, but G2 Esports undefeated streak in the LEC has come to an end at the hands of Origen to close out week 5 of the Spring Split. While the dominant team did try their best to adapt to the changing conditions of the match, in the end Origen was too strong for them as they claimed an important victory here today. Here’s a brief breakdown of the match.
Both teams seemed to come out strong, trading kills to open up the action before Origen claimed the first Dragon of the match. That objective was countered by G2 as they picked up the Rift Herald and subsequently the first Tower of the match, but Origen were quick to fire back as they took down Tower’s and another Dragon to keep their meager lead.
Despite Origen finding the lions share of kills and objectives, G2 were able to keep pace with them for much of the match through their incredible laning skills. Unfortunately for G2, that wouldn’t be enough in the end as Origen claimed more and more objectives, building their lead until it became too much to overcome. In the end, Origen were simply too far ahead of G2 for any other result to occur, as the current number one team in the LEC suffered their first defeat of the year.
