The historic moment was punctuated by the fact that the hashtag of #breakthrough, which was being used as a rallying cry for the Shanghai Dragons to get their first win on their Overwatch record, is now trending at the top of Twitter in the United States and Worldwide following the realization that the team had finally achieved their breakthrough moment in the global esports league for Blizzard Entertainment's first-person shooter title.

This historic esports moment was also highlighted by the fact that YoungJin "Gamsu" Noh helped lead the Shanghai Dragons to the first victory on their Overwatch League record against his former team in the Boston Uprising.
"Every time that we win I am very happy, but this one is a bit more special because I just beat my former team in Boston Uprising, and I feel like we can really keep this momentum going. Thank you guys so much," said Gamsu in a post-match interview.
While the Shanghai Dragons still have plenty of work to do to make sure that Season 2 of the Overwatch League goes much better than Season 1 did for the organization, the team's first official victory in history could possibly be the beginning of the greatest redemption story in the history of professional sports.
