Are you curious about how many people play Apex Legends? The CEO of Respawn Entertainment has provided an update of how many people play Apex Legends a month into the game's life.

How Many People Play Apex Legends? A Truly Insane Amount

Monday, March 4th marked the one month anniversary of Apex Legends being available for players from across the world to play. Being officially revealed and released on February 4th, the new battle royale title from Respawn Entertainment has quickly grown to be one of the top titles in the video game industry and one of the most viewed games on the streaming platform of Twitch. During this massive rise in popularity, Apex Legends has gathered an insane amount of people who play the game on a regular basis. This extraordinary number of people who play the title led to a recent announcement by Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella on the one month birthday of the battle royale game revealing the number of people that have played the newcomer to the battle royale genre.

Taking to his Twitter account, Vince Zampella announced that 50 million people have played Apex Legends in its first month of being available to the public. Accompanying the reveal that 50 million people have played the new battle royale title, Zampella also posted a montage video showing off some highlights from the community that came in the game's first month.

Thank you to the 50 million players that have shown up in the first month since Apex Legends launched! You have all made this something special and there's much more to come! pic.twitter.com/EoDcjF5q9E

The news of a truly extraordinary amount of people who play Apex Legends is even more impressive when taking into account that Apex Legends had no marketing buildup to its official reveal and release on February 4th, as the public only knew about the possible existence of Apex Legends a few days before thanks to a couple of leaks that made their way onto Reddit and social media.

However, the combination of a heavy dose of sponsored content by some of the most popular personalities on Twitch and YouTube, the popularity of free-to-play battle royale titles, and the foundation of a well polished and entertaining gameplay experience has been a perfect storm for Apex Legends to gather tens of millions of players who love to play as pointed out by esports Insider and Journalist Rod "Slasher" Breslau.

people will talk about the way apex legends launched with streamers and youtubers, the current appeal of competitive multiplayer/BR games, and of course the game being free to play. but most importantly and above all else the game is just GOOD - and GOOD on the day of launch.

While Apex Legends still has plenty of work to do when it comes to releasing consistent content updates in order to keep the people who play the game engaged for the long haul, the achievement of having 50 million people play your game in its first month of official existence is something that Respawn Entertainment should feel very proud and is a very positive sign for the future of the title.
