New League of Legends Champion Spotlight Highlights Kayle Rework
By TJ Denzer ·
With a couple of the oldest champions in League getting reworked, Riot has put Kayle center stage in the latest Champion Spotlight.

Kayle and Morgana have been kicking around League of Legends since dang near the beginning, and though Morgana has flourished in the bottom support and midlane roles, Kayle has arguably become a bit stale in comparison. That’s set to change with a new rework coming to both champions, and the latest Champion Spotlight gives us a better look at what Kayle’s new form is set to bring to the table.
The new Champion Spotlight featuring Kayle was posted on League of Legends’ YouTube and Twitter channels on March 4, 2019. Though we got a listing of Kayle’s abilities a couple weeks ago, the Spotlight goes into detail on her new form and puts a lot of her kit in action and context. Always a hybrid between ability power and physical fighter, Kayle’s new kit utilizes some fun little properties, including an all-new 4-part evolution system tied to her levels. You can check out the full Champion Spotlight below.
It’s interesting to see Kayle’s bread and butter spell of League, the Righteous Fury which turned her melee range attacks into area-of-effect long range, split between two parts in her passive and her new Starfire Spellblade. The passive is by far the most interesting. Where Kayle begins as a pretty regular melee champ, her level-ups are looking to turn her into a late-game beast among the League of Legends roster. Where at level 16, she becomes ranged and does area-of-effect true damage (damage that ignores defenses altogether), the new Kayle looks to be a champion you definitely want to keep down early.
You can read up further on Kayle’s rework on the League of Legends website's official champion reveal, but be sure to look out for the release of her rework coming likely in the next League of Legends patch. In the meantime, see where the current meta lies in competitive as the LCS Spring Split continues.
