Erron Black, Jacqui, & Cassie Confirmed Playable In MK11 Story Trailer

As we continue to fill the list on who’s making the Mortal Kombat 11 roster, NetherRealm Studios has given us three more confirmations today. In a new story trailer for the game, Jacqui Briggs, Cassie Cage, and Erron Black didn’t just make cameos. Sneak peaks at some gameplay confirmed them as part of the playable roster.

The new Mortal Kombat 11 story trailer was released on March 6, 2019 via the Mortal Kombat Twitter and IGN’s YouTube channel. It features a much-expanded context on the teasers we’ve been seeing for the story, such as who Kronika is, how the past and future versions of characters have come together on one timeline, and more. What was much more interesting to see were the inclusion of Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs, and Erron Black, who had been rumored and teased, but not fully confirmed playable until now. They didn’t just take part in the trailer. Each of them had a vignette of finishers or Krushing Blows at the end of the trailer that showed them as definitely playable. You can see the trailer in entirety below.

Allies, past and present, will be called upon to protect the Realms from Kronika.

With Jacqui, Cassie, and Erron added to Mortal Kombat 11’s confirmed roster, spaces are running short in the 25-slot character select screen that we’ve seen. There’s nothing to say that screen won’t be expanded, but 21 characters have been shown or teased, and 17 of them are definitely playable (Kitana, Shinnok, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao haven’t had definite gameplay reveals just yet, though they’ve appeared in story segments and menu teases).  That said, if the 25-slot menu is to be believed, only 4 to 8 character spots remain untaken. It will be interesting to see who fills out the last end of the roster.

Worth noting too, there appears to be another character in the story trailer we had yet to see until now. Shao Kahn seems to have a new friend: A blue-skinned, four-armed fellow in a hood. Likely a Shokan, this character has yet to be named, although rumor has it he might be called "The Kollector". Whoever he is, he seems to be on Shao Kahn and Kronika's side of the impending war in Mortal Kombat 11.

Who is this fellow behind Shao Kahn? Hard to say, but the character seems a little too unique to just be a nobody.
