What is Bus Fare in Fortnite? Fortnite Bus Fare Explained
By Nicholas Barth ·
Many players have been asking what is Bus Fare in Fortnite recently. We have all of the information about the new bus fare feature in Fortnite.

One of the major draws of Fortnite has been the battle royale game's in-game tournament event system Epic Games implemented to give players a chance to test their skills in a more competitive setting. Many of these Fortnite tournament events followed the same format of players having a certain match limit where they have the opportunity to secure as many as points as possible to climb up the leaderboards. However, Epic Games changed this format with the addition of the Gauntlet Solo and Duos events on March 6th by adding the bus fare feature to the Fortnite tournament system and this has plenty of people asking the question of what is bus fare in Fortnite.
Fortnite Bus Fare - What is Bus Fare in Fortnite
This particular feature is currently in effect for the newly added Gauntlet Solo and Duos tournament events. In order to play in these events, players will have to pay a bus fare of two points from their current Gauntlet tournament event point cache. This means that Fortnite players will now have to weigh their choices when it comes to playing another round of the Gauntlet Solo and Duos tournament events.
Do you pay risk playing another round and spending the bus fare of two points and not perform as well as you wanted thus lowering your standings on the leaderboards?
The reception to the new "tax" mechanic has been less than positive on social media, as many players outright do not enjoy having to pay the required two points every time they want to play a match. However, the bus fare looks to have been added into the Gauntlet Solo and Duos tournament events in order to stop players from jumping into a match, getting an elimination, immediately leaving and then repeating in order to rack up points more quickly than those who play matches out completely.
