Apex Legends Wingman Nerf Wasn't Enough Says Shroud
By Nicholas Barth ·
Popular Apex Legends Twitch streamer shroud doesn't believe the Wingman nerf that was recently applied through a balance update was the right one.

While popular Twitch streamer Michael "shroud" Grzesiek has made a name for himself as an extremely talented player in a multitude of first-person shooter and battle royale titles, the former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) player currently has his focus on dominating his opponents in Apex Legends. One weapon that shroud has collected plenty of kills with has been the powerful Wingman pistol that has been regarded as the best weapon in Apex Legends. Even though a recent balance update implemented by Respawn Entertainment looked to have applied a nerf to the Apex Legends Wingman, shroud believes that the Wingman balance change that was implemented was not the correct one.
During a recent Apex Legends Twitch stream, the high-profile content creator was testing out the recently nerfed pistol and explained his thoughts on the balance update that he believes "literally did nothing" of significance to the overall power of the popular pistol in Apex Legends.
"I personally don't think the Wingman nerf was enough. I don't think they did anything really. That was not the right nerf that they needed. If they were going to nerf fire rate, they needed to really nerf it or don't touch the fire rate at all and just nerf the damage," said shroud. "But, instead, they literally did nothing. Like they nerfed fire rate and then they nerfed Skullpierce, and Skullpierce wasn't even the issue. I don't think they even realize that Skullpierce didn't even matter."
Fellow Twitch streamer Annemunition responded to the above statement by shroud and stated that perhaps Respawn Entertainment had been afraid of over-nerfing the Wingman pistol. Shroud went on to agree with Annemunition about how Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment is indeed afraid of nerfing the Wingman too much.
"That's what they are afraid of. They want it to be the best gun, which I think is fine, but you know you can nerf it a little harder than that," concluded shroud.
