An intensely fast-paced best-of-seven between Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Rowan University crowns the Collegiate Rocket League Eastern Conference Champions.

Collegiate Rocket League has crowned its Eastern Conference champions for their Spring 2019 Season as 16 conference teams gets whittled to the final two, ahead of the four conference showdown in April.
In the past few years we’ve seen a wonderfully drastic rise in the popularity of collegiate Esports. Both in the sense of public visibility, and in the applied support of developers, publishers, education institutes, and sponsors of all kinds. Just look at the latest news from ESPN and their Collegiate Esports Championship tournament.
One of the hottest, and most reliably heart-stopping college competitive scenes is Collegiate Rocket League (or CRL). For the first time ever, 2019 has brought us the Spring Season for CRL, bringing back the four conferences layout, and inviting the two best teams in each conference to take part in the finals tournament, which will be held at the NCAA Final Four FanFest in Minneapolis this April.
Both Rowan University, and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute came out on fire, and put up some of the fastest Rocket League action we’ve seen in the 3v3 standard tournament style. Garry (of Rowan) has cemented himself as a member of the newly reformed squad, and truly became a thorn in the side of each team they faced. While Rensselaer, who came into the tournament as a heavy favorite, showed up in full force to absolutely no one’s surprise. With speedsters like Corky shoring up the defence, and naturally poignant goal-scorers like Relax, the boys from RSI played some amazing Rocket League.

Ultimately, it was Rensselaer who came out on top, nearly allowing the series to slip away from them, as they posted a statement shutout in the seventh and final match in their best-of-seven against Rowan.
The two teams battled it out in an absolutely spectacular best-of-seven that went all the way to a game seven, and saw heroics forced in overtime on multiple occasions. But now the folks at RSI have to set their sights on the kings of the other conferences, as they will be representing the Eastern Conference in the CRL Spring Finals.
In late February, the Western Conference was won by the University of Redlands Bulldogs, who beat the Arizona Wildcats in seven games. On crest of a fresh March, the Southern Conference was shored up handily as the University of Central Florida Knights stomped the the team from Kennesaw State University.
With one conference yet to play their Spring Finals Qualifier, the Northern Conference will be the final group to decide who will be representing their area in Minneapolis later this spring. A full rundown of the matches so far, and the schedule ahead, check out Tespa's CRL Bracket.
