What does limited pool mean in Fortnite? That is a question many players are asking themselves today after an unknown phrase has appeared in the game mode selection screen.
Wednesday, March 20th saw the v8.11 content update go live for Fortnite Battle Royale. While the v8.11 content update added the powerful Flintlock Pistol to the battle royale title and significantly nerfed the spawn rate of The Baller Fortnite vehicle, it also led to a mysterious piece of text appearing on the game mode selection screen for players. This phrase consists of the text limited pool and has become a major mystery in the game's community, as no one has any real idea to what it means. However, one Epic Games employee has come to the rescue to shed light on what limited pool is in Fortnite.
What Does Limited Pool Mean in Fortnite?
The first thought that many players had when it came to the mysterious text appearing is that it meant that the game mode they were trying to play had a select amount of players that they would be matched up with for a match.
Another thought was that this phrase was informing players that they had a smaller amount of potential players to play against and with because they had not opted into cross-platform play between Xbox One and Playstation 4 players. However, last week's patch notes stated that players who did not opt into the Xbox One and PS4 cross-platform play would only be able to play in the Creative or Playground modes.
Fortunately, an Epic Games engineering employee under the Reddit username of DanDaDaDanDan posted an explanation of what limited pool means to a thread discussing the phrase of limited pool on the Fortnite subreddit. According to the Epic Games employee, the Fortnite limited pool text is a "visual-only issue that will be addressed in the next build."
With this statement, Fortnite players can rest assured that the text of limited pool is just a visual bug that will be fixed in the battle royale game's next update and is no cause of concern.
