Apex Legends has quickly become one of the most popular video games in the world and has established itself as a true competitor in the battle royale genre. However, a major issue that players in the Apex Legends community have been experiencing in the title's short life has been game crashes on a variety of platforms that include PC. Looking to address PC crashes by using data that it has been collecting thanks to the Season 1: Wild Frontier update that implemented an improved method for collecting PC crash data, Respawn Entertainment has pushed an update for Apex Legends on Friday, March 22nd with patch notes that explain a fix has been created for PC crashes.

Apex Legends Update Patch Notes for PC Crashes

In the patch notes for the March 22nd update that provided a fix for the crash issue on computers, Respawn Entertainment explained that the Season 1 patch allowed the title to write an apex_crash.txt file to the My Documents folder of a PC. This method for collecting data on crashes allowed Respawn Entertainment to accurately discover the location for where these issues were arising in the files of the game, such as where "one part of the program changing memory used by another part" was causing crashes, according to the new patch notes.

Thanks to this data collection, Respawn Entertainment was able to create a fix for this particular issue and apply it to Apex Legends in the update that players will be downloading on March 22nd. You can find the full set of patch notes for this update in their entirety below.
