Dr DisRespect Says Prime H1Z1 was the Best Battle Royale

The past few years have seen the battle royale genre rise to becoming one of the most popular in the video game industry with many of the most popular games in the world currently seeing players looking to be the last player or team standing. This rise of the battle royale genre began with the title of H1Z1 and its King of the Kill version that quickly became must-watch title on the streaming platform of Twitch back in 2016. While H1Z1 has been surpassed in popularity by the likes of Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), Fortnite Battle Royale, Apex Legends in recent years, popular Twitch streamer Dr DisRespect recently explained why he believes that H1Z1 in its prime was the best battle royale title.

Injecting a type of gameplay and viewing experience that quickly showed it had a place on Twitch and the video game industry as a whole, H1Z1 was able to provide a solid battle royale experience in its prime that Dr DisRespect believes has not yet been beaten by newer titles in the genre.

"I'm talking in its prime when it was transitioning basically from the first map to the second map and a little bit into the second map for a couple of months," said Dr DisRespect. "Like that period of H1Z1, it's by far better than any other battle royale. Proximity chat, vehicle use, the way the guns felt, the intensity of an end game situation, so I'd have to go with H1Z1 number one in its prime."

While it remains to be seen if H1Z1 can ever get back to the high level of popularity that it once enjoyed during its prime with a whole host of new competitors in the popular genre, it will always be remembered as one of the titles to help jumpstart the interest in battle royale games, and according to Twitch personality Dr DisRespect, has yet to be surpassed to this day.
