Fortnite Pro Chap Says Console Players Will Not Qualify for World Cup
By Nicholas Barth ·
Team Liquid professional Fortnite player Chap recently explained why he believes console players have no chance of qualifying for the 2019 Fortnite World Cup.

The highlight of the young esports life of Fortnite Battle Royale in the 2019 Fortnite World Cup will be beginning next weekend with the first of 10 weekly online open qualifiers that will each have a prize pool of $1,000,000. These Online Open qualifiers will be the avenue that competitive players perform well in to secure a spot at the $30,000,000 Fortnite World Cup finals later this year.
While any Fortnite player in the world, no matter what platform they play on, will have a chance to qualify for the Fortnite World Cup Finals through the Online Open qualifiers, Team Liquid professional player Ryan "Chap" Chaplo explained why he does not believe that console players have any realistic shot of qualifying.
"If you are on console, you are not qualifying for Worlds. Get it through your f**king head. Like holy sh*t, you're not going to qualify. When has a console player even placed in the top 100 of a f**king qualifier? They are not going to f**king qualify. Get it out of your brain," said Team Liquid's Chap. "There's been like one console player in any open tourney ever. How do you not know this? You guys play on 30 FPS (frames per second) with shadows and motion blur on, and you think you can compete?"
In response to this statement from Chap, one viewer asked about Aydan of Ghost Gaming who is regarded as one of the most talented Fortnite players in the world with a controller. However, Chap pointed out that Aydan plays on PC but uses a controller instead of a keyboard and mouse.
"Aydan? Aydan plays on PC and the first tournament he went to. Guess what? He was on PC. You're f**ked. You're f**ked. Just give it up, ok? Don't get mad because a PC player has an advantage over you. Buy a f**king computer or shut up. That's just the way of the road dude."
Even though PC players do have an advantage over console players when it comes to hardware, there are surely plenty of console players who will be looking to prove Chap wrong and show they belong at the top level of the competitive scene for the battle royale title by qualifying for the World Cup Finals.
