Fortnite Dev Update Reveals Reboot (Respawn) Van Release Date

A brand new Fortnite dev update has officially announced the Reboot Van that will allow players to respawn their fallen teammates and when it will be added into the title.
Friday, April 5th saw Epic Games release a Battle Royale developer (dev) update video on the official Fortnite YouTube channel where details of the previously leaked Respawn Van were officially announced. In addition to the upcoming item being called the Reboot Van instead of Respawn, Epic Games revealed details in the dev update video regarding how exactly the item will operate and how players will be able to experience it when the patch notes for the 8.30 update are implemented.

The Fortnite Reboot Van will be placed at major points of interest across the map of the battle royale title and will allow players to bring back teammates who have been eliminated from a match, according to the Fortnite dev update video released on April 5th. In order to have a fallen teammate respawn back into the match, the Fortnite dev video explained that players will have to pick up their Reboot card and take it to one of the new van vehicles. This will then respawn the eliminated players back into the game at the Reboot Van with the dev video showing off footage of how this will occur.
However, an audio cue and giant light beam will be emitted from the Fortnite Reboot Van that you are using in order to alert enemy players in the surrounding area that a respawn is currently taking place. Once the respawn has been completed, the dev update video then explained how the Fortnite Reboot vehicle will be unavailable to use by players for a short amount of time afterward.
The ability to be able to have eliminated teammates be able to respawn back into a match became a fan favorite feature for battle royale players with its implementation in Apex Legends. With Apex Legends having popularized the feature, many players have poked fun at the new Fortnite dev update video for adding their own version with the newly revealed Reboot Van that will be introduced in the 8.30 update patch notes.
However, there will likely be no shortage of Fortnite players who will be excited to try out the new Reboot Van when it is added into the battle royale title with the upcoming 8.30 patch notes, as it will allow them to respawn their eliminated teammates and have a better chance at getting a Victory Royale.
