The 2019 LCS Spring Split is coming to an official end very soon. With the Semi-Finals taking place on the mainstage today, Riot Games took the time to award some more 2019 Spring Split accolades while they had all of the eyes on their stream.

Last week, the League of Legends Championship Series named their 2019 Spring Split All-Star team. Next week, the league will announce the overall Most Valuable Player award winner.

Coach of the Split

Bok “Reapered” Han-gyu of Cloud9 has won the League of Legends Championship Series’ award that honors, by voting committee, the best coach in the league during the split.

Taking the wheel of one of North America’s most storied Esports organizations in one of the most popular pro-leagues is no easy task. Last year, Reapered coached Cloud9 to a top-four finish at the League of Legends World Championships. Just prior to that, C9 lost to Team Liquid in the LCS Summer Finals.

In 2019, Reapered’s Cloud9 squad look far more composed than they have in the past, and the small roster changes they were forced to make have played out far better than expected. Repeared was surprised to win the award, stating that he thought the FlyQuest and Echo Fox Coaches did really well this split and that maybe they deserved the accolades more than he did.

It has yet to be seen whether or not Reapered and his new-look C9 can fight their way through the playoffs, however, the hopes of their faithful are high.

Rookie of the Split

The 2019 Spring Rookie of the Split played his League of Legends for the Team Liquid Academy team last year before getting picked up by the newly remodeled FlyQuest in the off-season. A strong top-laner in nearly any meta, Omran “V1per” Shoura has a reputation for bringing intensely high-tier Riven play to the North American pro-league.

“The team took a huge chance picking up a ‘one-trick’, they obviously saw my mechanics,” said V1per in regards to FlyQuest giving the solo-queue Riven god a shot. V1per, who is only 21-years old, has played more than 10,000 games on the top-lane Riven pick.

In the 2019 Spring Split, V1per has been a very crucial part of FlyQuests ability to survive late-game pressure. The team may have finished with a dead even 9W-9L record, but their qualification for the playoffs and their handling of Golden Guardians in the first round, speak to their skill as a unit. V1per, as a dependable rookie in the top-lane, is a huge part of that.

The 2019 LCS Spring Split Playoffs continue today, with Reapered's Cloud9 taking on TSM to decide who will earn a spot in the Spring Grand Finals. Then, tomorrow, we will see V1per's FlyQuest going head-to-head against the league-leading Team Liquid.
