TSM Myth Questions Competitive Fortnite Future Post World Cup

By Nicholas Barth ·

Team SoloMid (TSM) professional Fortnite player Myth recently took to social media and questioned how seriously he will take competing in the battle royale title following the 2019 World Cup.

TSM Myth Questions Competitive Fortnite Future Post World Cup

Week 1 of the 10 weekly $1,000,000 Fortnite World Cup qualifiers is in the books, as 19 players from six regions qualified for a spot in the future $30,000,000 Fortnite World Cup Finals event. Unfortunately for fans of Team SoloMid (TSM) professional Fortnite Battle Royale player Ali "Myth" Kabbani, Myth was not one of the players who qualified in Week 1.

With the competitive community for the battle royale having plenty of complaints about the current state of the title for the highly lucrative esports tournament, many, such as FaZe Clan's Turner "Tfue" Tenney, have begun to question their future when it comes to competing in future Fortnite events following the conclusion of the World Cup. TSM Myth was one of the latest players to voice this sentiment during the Week 1 qualifier.

TSM Myth to Possibly Quit Competing Following Fortnite World Cup?

Taking to his Twitter account on Sunday, April 14th, TSM Myth explained his current thought towards the competitive scene for the popular battle royale game to his followers.

TSM Myth began his post by stating that he will no longer be complaining about the competitive state of Fortnite and will be doing his best to enjoy playing. However, TSM Myth ended his post by stating that he is currently not sure how serious he will be taking competitive Fortnite when the World Cup concludes.

I think I'm in the same boat as a lot of other people rn but I just wanted to share with yall.

I'm done complaining about Fortnite competitive, I'm gonna try my best and have the most fun I can while playing it but after world cup I'm not sure if I'll take comp seriously. ??

While plenty of attention has been brought to the battle royale title's World Cup thanks to its total prize pool of $40,000,000, recent updates to the game have been very negatively received by players with many calling for developer Epic Games to make significant changes for the World Cup. This is due to the fact that many believe the title in its current state is nowhere near competitively balanced enough to have a tournament where players are competing for tens of millions of dollars.

However, due to the fact that it does not look like Epic Games is interested at all in listening to its community regarding the competitive health of Fortnite, the World Cup could possibly be the last event for players like TSM Myth if Epic Games does not make serious changes going forward.
