Street Fighter Subreddit Sends Two Players to Combo Breaker
By Jeff Kotuby ·
Recently, r/StreetFighter held a contest to send two Street Fighter V players to Combo Breaker in Chicago, Illinois. Today, the results revealed who would represent the sub at the CPT ranking event!
Crowdfunding for fighting game players is nothing new, especially when popular subreddits decide they want to sponsor a player or two they particularly enjoy. Bastion of fighting game purity r/Kappa was renowned for sponsoring their favorite fighting game players in a variety of games. This time, though, it's r/StreetFighter who's shelling out the big bucks to send two bright stars to Combo Breaker in Chicago, Illinois.
Happy to announce that our community has decided to send @didimokof and @mhike2stronk to @ComboBreakerFGC!!!!https://t.co/7xjB1KF08o

Dhalsim player TOP Fighter | DidimoKof and Zangief player mhike2stronk will be representing r/StreetFighter at Combo Breaker, which takes place May 24-26. The pair defeated representatives of every other Street Fighter V character to win the sponsorships, edging out popular streamers and FGC members to secure the bag.
So, Who Are These Guys?
They're no slouches, that's for sure. Let's start with the top dog here:
TOP Fighter | DidimoKof
Didimokof hails from San Paulo, Brazil, and is already in the Capcom Pro Tour thanks to his victory at the Latin American Regional Finals. He also placed 17th at NorCal Regionals, no small feat for a man travelling so far. He plays his Dhalsim perfectly, able to switch between frustrating, full-screen offense and almost rushdown aggression at a moment's notice. Here's one of his signature wins, where he knocked off Kazunoko:

Fans of r/StreetFighter's online weeklies will know mhike well - he's a force in that scene. The Minnesota native manages to pull off some of the most ridiculous stuff with Zangief, a character some may say is weak compared to the rest of the cast. You'd never know that was the case by watching Mike:

(Shout out to mhike for listening to the best JoJo's opening, by the way.) Mhike's Warlord Zangief will be someone to watch on Combo Breaker weekend for sure.
