Overwatch League's Dogman Gets Groomed - Chops Hair on Air

The year is 2017. The place: Dusttin “Dogman” Bowerman’s Twitch channel. Watching Lunatic Hai take on Runaway in Overwatch Apex Season 2, the support player made a promise; a promise that fans would hold him to nearly two years later, affecting not only his life, but also his hair.

“How about this, I’ll make a deal with you guys, chat,” said Bowerman, running his fingers through his medium length hair. “If I make it into the OW League—if I get to the OW League—I will rock the bowl cut. I will get a Korean bowl cut for at least the first season of it that I’m in, okay chat?"

It’s silly to think that the internet would forget such a thing, and, as if to tempt fate, Dogman also tweeted about it following receiving a letter of interest from Blizzard regarding the Overwatch League. Giving enough time for his hair to grow into a respectable mop, Dogman finally held up his end of the deal during the Overwatch League post-show Sunday evening.

Sheered by none other than on-air talent Brennon "Bren" Hook, the first pass of the bowl cut was as nerve-wracking to watch as the game preceding it, with the bowl tilting around the Atlanta support player’s head. It was uncertain as to exactly how much damage was done until the bowl came off. Not quite a bowl-cut, the ‘do didn’t pack the same punch as the power cut rocked by many of the players in that landmark Apex Quarterfinals two years ago. Without being able to cut the bangs, Bren felt that he was not able to complete his mission.

“I won’t lie to you guys, I put the scissors up to his fringe, and immediately ten voices were screaming in my ear,” he said.

Yet, Dogman made sure the extent of the promise was executed, finalizing the look after the segment and posting the results to his Twitter account.

Knowing that Dogman holds himself to the highest level of competition, we couldn’t help but wonder what other power-cuts may look like on Atlanta’s support player.

First off, one of the most iconic haircuts of all time, the Rachel. Dogman’s role as a support player wouldn’t come into question in the slightest with angelic 90s highlights surrounding his face.

Next, the Flock of Seagulls. Perfect for if Mercy should return to the meta, this haircut mimics the Swiss doctor’s glowing wings from her Valkyrie suit.

Finally, the perfect hair-do for a post-NYXL Dogman would be this carefree Ariana Grande ponytail. After awarding New York their first loss of the season, this haircut screams, “Thank U, Next.”
