Shroud Believes Apex Legends Has A Very Bright Future

Michael "shroud" Grzesiek is one of the most popular streamers on the platform of Twitch, as the former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) player draws in tens of thousands of viewers to his Twitch stream on a daily basis. While shroud became well-known in the video game world thanks to his time playing one of the most popular first-person shooter esports titles in the world for Cloud9, shroud has risen to superstardom from his streaming of battle royale titles on Twitch. Due to this, many viewers often seek out the streamer's opinions on games in the battle royale genre. This was the case recently when shroud explained why he believes Apex Legends has a bright future ahead of it.

The current landscape of the battle royale genre sees any new competitor compared to Fortnite, as the Epic Games developed title has become one of the most popular video games in the world and has a reached a level of mainstream relevance that has never been seen before. However, during a recent Twitch stream, shroud stated that Fortnite did not get to the level of success that it currently is at overnight and how Apex Legends shouldn't be expected to do what Fortnite didn't.

"Fortnite was a very long process. It didn't just happen overnight. That s**t took a while to get to its state, and then they capitalized on it, and then they upped their team. I think Respawn (Entertainment) is going to do the same thing. They did not expect their game to launch this big. It launched like this. They weren't ready. That's totally fine. That's acceptable," said shroud during his recent Twitch stream. "

Now, back to the real world here. The game's kinda like stabled itself out. They're gonna come out with their updates. Their gonna hire a new team. Hire more people for the team, whatever, and it's just gonna f**king takeoff," shroud continued. "Fortnite was trash at the beginning. It took a long time to get to where it was. It didn't happen overnight, and I think people forget that, and this game I believe will do the same because its got such a great f**king foundation, such a good core, just like Fortnite."

With the main complaint against Apex Legends currently being the lack of new content that has been developed for the title since its release, Respawn Entertainment will need to deliver high-quality content that resonates with players heading into the future if it wishes to see the same level of growth that Fortnite has seen.
