Cloud9 Turns Twitter into Team Liquid Fan Club for MSI Finals
By Wyatt Fossett ·
The story of North America versus Europe has been a long-standing war, especially in League of Legends, and fellow NA organization Cloud9 went all-out in support of their friends during the MSI 2019 Finals.

No matter how crazy and combative the competitive atmosphere in the domestic leagues get, when it comes time for international tournaments, the names on the jerseys dissolve away and it all becomes a pride-fest for regions around the globe.
Nothing displays this more than Cloud9 -- who in support of their North America LCS competitors, celebrated Team Liquid and their achievements at MSI 2019 -- turning their Twitter page into the #1 Team Liquid Fan Club.
The two organizations exchanged plenty of niceties and support throughout the lead-up, and ultimate downfall of Team Liquid in the Grand Finals of this year’s magical Mid-Season Invitational run.
When it comes to international competition, the pride truly lives with the region. In a recent episode of Travis Gafford’s Hotline League podcast, one caller said that they didn’t support NA as a region just because that’s where he is from, rather, did not want the representative from his region to win, because it wasn’t “his team”. Luckily, this isn’t the common belief of League of Legends fans.
You beat the #Worlds2018 Champions.

You reached the Grand Finals of an International event.
You showed the World that we are not a weak region.
You made us proud.
You made North America proud.
We will never forget this #MSI2019
We are NA.

Looking back at G2 Esports’ victory MSI 2019, it’s a win for EU as a region. More often than not, folks talk about international competition in terms of which region takes the trophy, not the organization that drives the bus.
This all makes the social media celebration from Cloud9 that much more endearing. Hopefully, more people can get behind supporting their region in the same way when it comes to taking their skills to international ground.
