Dauntless Achieves +4 Million Players Following Console Launch

Dauntless has finally launched on consoles and in the Epic Games Store, bringing the game to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with crossplay between all systems. Despite some maintenance, players seem to be picking the game up across all platforms. Dauntless developer Phoenix Labs announced today that players for the game have surpassed over 4 million.

The milestone announcement for Dauntless was made on May 23, 2019 via a press release. Following the official launch of the game on Xbox Live, the PS Store, and the Epic Games Store, it would appear that Dauntless has had a healthy number of new players coming in to check out the monster-hunting co-op. Included with this is the fact that crossplay allows players across platforms to enjoy the game with each other.

It hasn’t been the smoothest of sailing. Phoenix Labs has been hard at work on server maintenance and other issues no doubt somewhat caused by the large influx of players. Nonetheless, Dauntless is providing all-new player bases with the Behemoth slaying experience PC players have been enjoying for some time in the Shattered Isles. The team is communicating constantly and updates are coming fast to ensure the smoothest and most enjoyable experience possible - as could be expected of a crew that puts so much emphasis on their community.

There’s even more on the horizon for Dauntless as well. Phoenix Labs wants to bring the game to Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms in the future and crossplay along with it. With mobile only continuing to be a growing force worldwide (so much so that even League of Legends is planning to go mobile between Riot and Tencent), it would undoubtedly be a solid next move for the game.

Have you jumped into Dauntless yet? It’s out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Be sure to check out the Dauntless website for further news and upcoming content.
