Cody Sun May Get LCS Start for Clutch Gaming Ahead of Piglet

Clutch Gaming's mid-laner Damonte may have let it slip that their Clutch Academy ad-carry Cody Sun may start for the LCS squad to begin the Summer Split.
As the world of League of Legends and the LCS looks ahead to the 2019 Summer Split, teams like Clutch Gaming have a lot of faith in their line-up, but things need to change in some way in order to climb out of obscurity and back into a playoff picture.
In an interview with Travis Gafford, Clutch Gaming’s mid-laner Tanner “Damonte” Damonte may have let a lot of info slip that perhaps he wasn’t supposed to.
“Scrimming with Cody has been great. Everyone is very motivated,” said Damonte. “I can’t get into too much detail, there was just some weird stuff that happened,” he added in regards to storied Korean bot-laner Piglet no longer on the starting roster.
Cody Sun has had a rough go of things over the course of his professional League of Legends career, yet no matter who you talk to they will say that he is one of the best at what he does. Everyone loves him, and he’s got the talent, so what’s holding him back?
Perhaps there’s a mixture team dynamics and confidence on the main-stage. Over the course of the nearly three years since joining the LCS, Cody Sun has seen minimal to no success. His greatest achievement, winning the 2018 Summer Split with 100 Thieves before losing in the playoff Finals to Team Liquid, was followed up by a very steep and slippery downtrend. By the end of 2018, Cody Sun was out at camp 100T.
After that, Cody Sun would enter into the Academy league courtesy of Clutch Gaming, and now, just one split later, it seems he’s getting the call to the big game for Clutch -- who may be Team Dignitas by the end of the year -- who is apparently having a bit of a hard time with the former League of Legends World Champion ad-carry Piglet.
As of right now, there is no official word from the organization regarding their starting line-up, but we’re still a few days away from June 1st, which marks the start of the 2019 LCS Summer Split.
“Last split was s***, this split will be much better,” said Damonte in the video. Now, that we will have to wait and see.
