Mike Tyson Invests In Fade 2 Karma Esports Team

"Iron" Mike Tyson recently became the latest sports figure to get into the esports game by investing into Fade 2 Karma, or F2K.

Mike Tyson Invests In Fade 2 Karma Esports Team

A name that has seemingly been linked with video games since the very beginning is "Iron" Mike Tyson. The final boss and namesake of the beloved Mike Tyson's Punch-Out seems like an obvious choice to jump into the esports arena - which is why Tyson's latest business venture is a no brainer. Earlier today, ESPN Esports announced that Tyson would be investing into Fade 2 Karma, or F2K, an esports team originally founded in 2015 by German Hearthstone and Magic: The Gathering player Tim "Thune" Bergmann.

Financial terms of the investment were undisclosed, but the partnership between F2K and Tyson Ranch, Mike's business venture, will include a dedicated streaming facility located in El Segundo, California, called the "Ranch House." It's unknown what relationship, if any, the streaming complex will have with Tyson's other venture, a 420-acre entertainment complex called the Tyson Ranch Resort. The "Ranch House" will include private streaming rooms, a tournament space, a DJ booth, rooftop party space, and content production areas for creators to film for YouTube and other video sharing services.

Mike Tyson in Video Games

Similar to San Francisco Shock co-owner Shaquille O'Neal, Tyson has an impressive list of video game appearances. The most obvious is the one we mentioned earlier - Mike Tyson's Punch-Out! Tyson serves as the daunting final boss and namesake of the game, even though these days people are beating the game blindfolded and while playing another game at the same time.  Tyson also starred in two EA Sports productions - Fight Night Round 4 and EA UFC 2  - the former as a cover athlete starring alongside Muhammad Ali, the latter as a sort of "What If?" DLC character, as seen below.

Tyson was also a DLC character in WWE 13 as he appeared during the iconic Wrestlemania XIV main event between "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels. Tyson served as the enforcer of the match (though obviously favoring Michaels by adorning a D-Generation X shirt) who ultimately turned on Michaels and served Austin the WWF Championship on a silver platter, kicking off the beloved "Attitude Era." (Sorry if we're spoiling things for you, all of 21 years later.)

Mike's definitely going to bring some edge to his new team - hopefully they can match the voracity of the former heavyweight boxing champion.
