The Internet Reacts to the Shang Tsung Mortal Kombat 11 DLC Reveal Trailer
By Jason Fanelli ·
Shang Tsung has arrived, and the trailer debuting the newest Mortal Kombat 11 fighter sent the social media world into a frenzy. Here are some of the best reactions.

The first downloadable kontent trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 has finally dropped, showing off the sorcerer Shang Tsung’s shape-shifting fighting abilities. Along with the Shang reveal came word of three more fighters hitting the roster soon: Nightwolf, Sindel, and guest character Spawn, with two more guests teased for a future reveal. The internet ate these announcements up, with social media buzzing all day even before the trailer finally surfaced.
Before the reveal even emerged, high profile fighting game community members were reacting to Boon’s teases and asking questions. Combo Breaker MK11 champion Brad “Scar” Vaughn was very vocal:

Prominent YouTube personality Maximilian_DOOD made an entire video about it the day before the reveal date was confirmed:
When the curtain was finally lifted, however, the Mortal Kombat community went bonkers for the new characters and how they’re shaping up. Many big names in the FGC, from NetherRealm competitors Ryan “Big D” Dedomenico and Dominique “SonicFox” McLean to Street Fighter pro Alex Valle were very excited with what they saw:
YOOO SHANG TSUNG IS HYPE AS HELL.

Shang Tsung using Ninja souls as special moves and soul switch must be 2 different variations. He has his triple FBs too! I'm so excited! Great job @noobde @NetherRealm #MK11 https://t.co/6kwXJbMBKd

There were plenty of Tweets talking about Shang Tsung’s moveset incorporating a few of the game’s famous ninjas:
That Shang Tsung trailer looks amazing. The fact it looks like he's got powers of the other ninjas not in the game goes a long way in the fanservice category. #MK11

I really love how Shang Tsung uses the Ninja's special moves from MK9 :)#MortalKombat11 pic.twitter.com/xiVZU8KMvl

A few folks immediately moved on from Shang and went to the other fighters referenced at the end of the trailer:
Forget the fact that Shang Tsung can use the abilities of multiple ninjas, MY BOY NIGHTWOLF IS COMING BACK? And SPAWN IS FINALLY BEING ADDED TO MK??

Spawn has been confirmed for Mortal Kombat 11. The first thing I thought of was Spawn was exclusive to the Xbox version of Soul Calibur II and now he will finally be on a Sony and Nintendo platform for a fighting game haha.

Finally there’s the aforementioned Maximilian, who posted his reactions to his YouTube channel. He was certainly pleased.
Needless to say, the long wait for the Shang Tsung trailer to drop was instantly forgiven once the MK community got its eyes on it. With five more fighters on the horizon, MK11 has plenty of bloody good times in its future.
