Understandably, the world of competitive Fornite was turned on its head today as a player who was already kicked from the tournament for cheating, qualified for the World Cup in Duos.

Expelled Fortnite Cheater Qualified for World Cup in Duos

On twitter today, notable Fortnite personality, Twitch streamer, and Fornite World Cup host Ben “DrLupo” Lupo went off on the competitive Fornite structure, thanks to a controversial qualification of XXiF and his duo partner after he was expelled from the competition for cheating during Solo play.

The professional Fortnite player XXiF was disqualified from the Solo ladder after it was deemed he was cheating during live competitive qualification matches. Today, the same player was not only allowed to play in the Duo portion of the qualification tournament, but he and his duo partner Code Ronaldo qualified for the World Cup competition in New York with a 3rd place finish.

A cheater qualifying for a $30,000,000 tournament is a kick in the junk to the integrity of the Fortnite competitive community. Love or hate the game, this should be unanimously agreed upon.

The community is pretty torn about the ruling, but it’s more of a mark on Fortnite’s competitive environment as a whole and how little Epic Games seems to care about the integrity of the scene.

I highly doubt they would cheat a second time, before anyone asks for replays to reviewed, etc. They'll be reviewed anyway, I'm just saying - no one is that stupid to do it twice.

The bottom line - I feel for everyone who grinds their butts off to work on their gameplay, only to get pushed out of qualification for NYC by that duo.

Plenty of Fortnite pros and fans alike spoke out on Twitter following the tweets from DrLupo himself.

We've taken so many kicks to the junk I'm not sure there's even anything left to kick. I think we all kinda just /shrug now and move on.

All it does is make other people want to risk a 14 day ban at the chance of $50k. They shouldn't have been allowed to play the rest of WC. I wonder if there is anyone who's qualified from cheating that hasn't been caught cause they know its only a 14 day ban if they get caught /:

The entire situation is exacerbated by the fact that the Fornite World Cup is the first competition of its size for the extremely popular game. The total prize pool is $30,000,000, and for someone who has already cheated in this very tournament to have an opportunity to take any of that hard-earned prize money away from others is pretty revolting.

As of the time of this publishing, Fortnite nor Epic Games have said a word on the matter regarding XXiF and his duo partner qualifying for the major tournament to be held in NYC next month.
