Xbox and Meta Threads Team Up for New Clothing Line

Gaming and streetwear fans, rejoice: Microsoft and Meta Threads once again join forces to deliver an all-new line of "functional, modern clothing."
Just in time for E3, Microsoft has announced a collaboration with gaming apparel line Meta Threads. The new Xbox X Meta collection looks to drop at the conference on June 11th, available for purchase at the Microsoft Theatre. Inspired by both traditional sports and technology, the new lifestyle apparel line consists of 15 pieces.
“Gaming remains a dominant force in pop culture and our goal is to capture the lifestyle beyond just the screen, bringing it into our fan’s every day lives,” said Steve Nabi, the co-founder and president of Meta Threads. “We are excited to announce our second collection with Xbox at E3 and are looking forward to future projects.”
On the shoulder or sleeve of several pieces, one can read “Jump In,” “2001,” and “MMXIX.” These signify the Xbox 360 launch slogan, the year the original Xbox launched, and the current year, 2019. Other small details also help elevate the line, including a zippered pocket on the sleeve of the tactical tee and a small velcro square that one could adorn with badges or patches.
While most of the pieces are monochromatic, there are a few pops of green in the Xbox Collection shared thus far. A small stripe of pale lime bands across the sleeve of the zip-up fleece, while a similar stripe runs to the pocket of the jacket. Even on the more streetwear inspired grey tee, a greenish Xbox icon reminiscent of the power indicator on the Xbox One rests on the breast.
We’re especially interested in the joggers arriving in this collab. An extra panel appears just above the knee, granting a unique yet aggrandized look, intercepting two black stripes. Branding appears prominently on the joggers, as well, with “XB” residing on one leg and “OX” on the other.
Similar to last year’s line, attendees at E3 will be able to add their gamer tag to the clothes for an additional charge.
