Shroud Says Epic Games Store Will Help PC Gaming Greatly

Former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) player and current Twitch superstar Michael "shroud" Grzesiek is one of the most popular video game personalities in the world. Due to the massive reach shroud commands, many viewers tune into the Twitch stream of shroud on a regular basis to witness him collect numerous highlights and hear his viewpoint on major topics in the video game world. This was the case during a recent stream when shroud gave his take on how the Epic Games store will be of great benefit to the future of PC gaming.

It has been no secret that STEAM has been the top dog of PC gaming when it comes to where players can go to purchase games and where developers can publish their creations. However, thanks to the immense amount of money that Epic Games has made with the success of Fortnite Battle Royale, the development studio has launched its own PC gaming store and has already secured a number of high-profile exclusives for it, such as Borderlands 3 and The Division 2. One of the main reasons that the Epic Games store has seen this level of success already is because of the much higher revenue split it gives developers when compared to STEAM.

Unfortunately for the Epic Games Store, there is a large number of members from the PC gaming community who are not pleased with the Epic Games Store, as they feel it is less superior to the features that STEAM offers and are not fans of having to acquire another application in order to play certain games. These thoughts have been fought back against with the idea that many PC players are only scared of change because of how STEAM has been the main source of acquiring PC games for a substantial length of time.

This sentiment was not shared by shroud, however, as the high-profile Twitch streamer stated during a recent stream that he believes Epic Games will benefit the future of PC gaming in a very positive way.

"I don't think you guys realize how important Epic is to PC gaming. They will literally save PC gaming. Well, I mean it hasn't really gone anywhere, but they're gonna help it," said shroud.

This statement by shroud was in response to a viewer from his chat who was discussing how the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake will only be available on PlayStation 4 when it launches. However, thanks to the generous revenue split the Epic Games Store is offering to developers who publish their titles on the service, it would not be surprising to see more developers decide to make their games also available for PC players.
