Dying Light 2's Co-op Is The Fastest Way To See 100% Of the Game
By TJ Denzer ·
Playing Dying Light 2 on single player will only show you 50% of the game. It seems Co-op is the best way to see it all without having to play through it several more times.

Dying Light 2 has been turning heads at E3 2019 and co-op is going to be quite the handy feature. Though no hands-on play was on deck, Techland took the time to show off the more resounding effects of ripple choices in the game. Ultimately, we learned that your choices will only allow you to see 50% of the game in a single playthrough. If you don’t want to play through 4 or 5 times, cooperative play is going to be key to your Dying Light 2 experience.
The hands-off demo of Dying Light 2 at E3 2019 featured a deeper look at the trials, tribulations, and choices presented to Aiden Caldwell (your playable character in the game). Aiden is infected with the zombie infection, but there’s a more dire situation beyond him. His city is running out of drinking water and only a mysterious leader of a nearby water plant known as the Colonel can help. Aiden has choices every step of the way which include looking after his friends, cooperating with Colonel, or taking the water by force. By the end of our demo, Aiden defied the Colonel to overtake the water plant and let loose its reserves, flooding the city and giving rise to a new kind of waterlogged and spiny zombie monster.
In the past, we’ve seen the likes of vicious and dangerous Volatiles who are super fast, strong, and will hunt you in the dark. These kinds of enemies return in Dying Light 2, but it’s your choices that allow for drastically different situations and enemies to come into play. If you hadn’t flooded the city, the spiny Infected wouldn’t appear, but a different kind of human or monster might. There’s no way to see it all in one run because of the drastic affects choices can have on the city.
That’s where co-op comes into play. When one player hosts a cooperative game, up to 3 other players (making for 2-4 co-op altogether) enter the hosting player’s city and can see the affects of the choices they make within their game. That means that while on your own, you’d have to play through the game several times to 100% Dying Light 2, co-op will allow you to experience more of the game quicker. That’s likely going to be extremely helpful to players that don’t have time to do so many multiple runs. If you’re looking to save time, Dying Light 2’s co-op absolutely looks like the way to go.
Dying Light 2 is set to feature further multiplayer beyond co-op. Look forward to more as the game readies for launch in Spring 2020.
