At the end of a crazy weekend of Super Smash Bros. Melee action, it's Axe and his Pokemon that walk away from Smash Summit 8 champions.

All of the greatest Super Smash Bros. Melee players gathered at the Beyond the Summit house this weekend to settle it on the platforms and find out who would take home the Smash Summit 8 Championship.

Everyone knew that this weekend was going to be special once Sunday began at the Beyond the Summit house. Hours flew by and many battles were won and lost, but many of the most familiar faces in Smash Melee were falling off of the bracket early.

IBDW himself managed to send Cloud9’s Mang0, aMSa, and even Team Liquid’s Hungrybox home on his way to the Losers Bracket semi-finals. TSM’s Leffen remained the biggest name in Smash still alive before he himself lost the Losers Final to Wizzrobe, who won Smash'N'Splash just a few weeks ago.

The Grand Finals between Tempo’s Axe and Wizzrobe was electric, and a must-watch for all those who love Super Smash Bros. Ultimate competition.

After getting the bracket to reset in the Grand Finals match against Axe, Wizzrobe would watch his momentum dry up as his opponent flipped a switch and took the last best-of-five in just 4 games.

Axe makes history in Super Smash Bros. Melee -- a game that came out on the Nintendo GameCube 18 years ago -- by becoming the first player to win a Melee Major with Pikachu.
