Fortnite Flare Gun Item Hinted at During 2019 Pro-Am Event

The 2019 Celebrity Fortnite Pro-Am tournament took place on Sunday, June 16th, and it saw a plethora of high-profile players from the community of the battle royale title and celebrities from other entertainment industries compete to secure some lucrative amount of money for a wide array of charities. While the competitive action from the 2019 Pro-Am received plenty of attention, a new piece of footage that was shown during the event's broadcast also caught the attention of the game's community, as it showed what could be a teaser for the addition of a new flare gun item.

Fortnite Flare Gun

This video consisted of everyone's favorite default skin of Jonesy doing his best Castaway Tom Hanks impression, as the character was stranded on an island. Seeing the battle bus flying over the island where he was stranded, Jonesy took out a flare gun and attempted to alert the battle bus of his location and secure a rescue. Unfortunately for the stranded Jonesy, his shot with the item was a tad too good, as he went on to destroy the battle bus with his shot from the flare gun.

While Epic Games did not officially announce the addition of the item to Fortnite during the broadcast of the 2019 Pro-Am event, it would be surprising to see the developer release this video of the item on its own without actually adding the flare gun to Fortnite sometime in the future.

However, as with all speculation regarding changes to Fortnite, the community of the battle royale title will have to wait until an official announcement is made by Epic Games regarding the addition of a flare gun item to Fortnite in order to be absolutely sure that the unique item will indeed be added.
