DJ Nicky Romero Joins ReKTGlobal as Newest Investor

Tuesday, June 18th saw ReKTGlobal once again be at the forefront of merging the worlds of music and esports together, as the parent company of Rogue announced that DJ Nicky Romero had become the latest investor for the organization. Nicky Romero joins a high-profile group of music industry leaders who have also invested in ReKTGlobal which include Steve Aoki, Imagine Dragons, Tainy, and Lex Borrero.

“As esports is rapidly growing and dominating the culture right now, we are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to intersect music and ultimately reach the fans,” said ReKTGlobal co-founder Amish Shah. “With Rogue’s recent global expansion and entry into the new League of Legends Europe Championship (LEC), DJ Nicky Romero is the perfect fit. We are thrilled to welcome him and his visionary mindset to the team and look forward to forging a global connection together.”

Romero is best known for his highly popular hits of "Toulouse" and "I Could Be the One". The electronic dance music veteran has also been credited for his co-production work on Rihanna's "Right Now" and "It Should Be Easy" from Britney Spears. Utilizing his massive social media audience of over 18,000,000 followers, Romero will help in the global expansion of both ReKTGlobal and Rogue through integrations and partnerships. These will include the co-hosting of livestreams and the creation of fan content with Rogue players.

"I'm excited to join my good friend and fellow DJ, Steve Aoki, with my investment into ReKTGlobal and Team Rogue,” said DJ Nicky Romero. “I love gaming because it provides a great way to unwind after long nights in the studio. It’s also how I stay connected with friends when I’m on the road performing. Rogue is killing it at FIFA right now and I’m counting down the days until I can link up and play with MSDOSSARY and the rest of the team.”

With the added influence and support of Nicky Romero, ReKTGlobal and Rogue will be looking to continue and exceed the high-level of success they have already seen in the world of esports.
