Nintendo Surprises Fans with Super Smash Bros. Switch Announcement

After another exciting Nintendo Direct full of new content for existing titles, fans were gifted a treat with the surprise announcement of a new Super Smash Bros. title to be released on the Nintendo Switch. While some managed to contain their excitement, others were more than a little pleased with the reveal.

While the official website doesn't offer any new information just yet, it does contain a nifty version of the teaser reveal, should you want to relive the magic of the video once more. Fans have been blowing up the internet since the reveal, and who can blame them? Super Smash Bros. is something of a genre crosser, with the game being equally at home on the big stage at an event like Evo, or just a couple of friends at a party, so it’s no wonder that so many people are so ready for yet another installment of the franchise.

The only other bits of information that we can gleam from the teaser, is that Mario would appear to be in it (shocking, I know), and that the link shown appears to be the version from the super popular The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. We can tell from the video that the squid kids from Splatoon will be present, and the game appears to be releasing sometime this year, much sooner than fans would have expected.
