100 Thieves Win Their Third LCS Game in a Row

It's been a tough start to the 2019 calendar for 100 Thieves' League of Legends team, but something has clicked and they are red hot right now.

Their introduction to the North American League of Legends Championship Series was electric, making it all the way to the 2018 LCS Spring Finals, but it has been all downhill and struggles since then.

Every break between splits 100 Thieves has been trying to figure out their woes, with little to no success. This past off-season they brought in a classic European jungler in Amazing, and even that didn’t work.

The beginning of the 2019 LCS Summer Split seemed like it was going to be the same song from the orchestra of 100 Thieves. That was, until last Sunday.

Three-in-a-row

It began with a hard-fought win over Echo Fox. Due to their opponent being a pretty lack-luster team right now, it didn’t seem like much of a feat for 100 Thieves. Sure, it must have felt nice to finally get the goose-egg off of their scoresheet regardless of the quality of opponent, but they didn’t slow down.

This week 100 Thieves secured a 2-0 weekend that all kicked-off on Saturday where the now tied-for-last 100 Thieves stunned the North American world by handily defeating Cloud9, a team often considered one of the region’s best.

Following that, 100 Thieves took to the rift today riding a two-game winning streak, killing a potential championship contender in Cloud9, and they handed a struggling FlyQuest their second loss of the weekend.

Next Week for 100T

Next weekend is going to be the 2019 Rift Rivals tournament, in which 100 Thieves were not invited, so there is going to be an extra week in between their 2-0 weekend and their match-up against TSM on July 6th.

Hopefully, the prolonged break doesn’t stunt any of the momentum that 100 Thieves has built up over the course of their last three matches.

Come the end of the 2019 Summer Split, assuming this is the version of 100 Thieves we are to expect the rest of the way, we could very well see the still young 100 Thieves organization recapturing a playoff berth in the North American LCS.
