It’s a fresh week and with it came a fresh new episode of The GG Podcast with Rick Fox, Todd Roy, and Jace Hall. This week got off to a fiery start with Rick ready to fight poverty, but mostly Jace for starving him just before a road trip. Following the vent, the trio talks about community news, the evolution of esports brands and orgs, and Jace’s new religion. Kyle Fox also chimes in on the complaints about upcoming Pokemon games.

One of the biggest chats to come out of this week was a look at how esports organizations and brands have come from where they started to where they are now, as well as what it takes to grow an organization. To this, Echo Fox owner Rick Fox stepped up to answer questions about investment, social media, brand image, the differences between traditional sports organizations and esports organizations, and more.
Kyle Fox returns once more, this time to talk about the complaints going towards Pokemon. Recent fan grumbles have been over various subjects, including anger over a perceived lack of effort put into the animations of Pokemon in the upcoming games. To this, Kyle argues the effort that goes into animating over 1000+ pokemon and asserts that it’s a lucky thing there’s any new mainline games given the supermassive success and constant support of Pokemon GO.
Jace Hall also shares in his newfound religion, of which Kyle Fox is a convert. The rest of the squad shares in a few groans as Jace goes into the tenets of Brodinism and its god, “Brodin” (not to be confused with Odin, whom Jace dubs “weak in comparison”). Strap in for discussion of the Swole Sagas, the Iron Temples, and the New Chestament and how all of this ties into gaming.
From the book of Brodin: Swolefather, who art in the iron temple, swoled by thy frame. Thy swoledom come, thy lifts be done, in the deadlift as well as in the squat rack. Give us this day our daily whey. And forgive us our cheat days, as we forgive those who swolehate. Wheymen. pic.twitter.com/8nHQDPEw7T

As an aside, this episode also dips into the recent death of YouTuber and influencer Desmond "Etika" Amofah (20:00 - 28:45). The trio shares in their thoughts on the matter of mental health and support systems necessary to help people when they’re in need today.
“Mental health is real,” Fox stresses. “The challenges of anxiety, panic disorders, and how you medicate yourself to get through those things are real. This generation as a whole is dealing with that, and I don’t know if society as a whole is processing that on a level of attention that it should be getting with this generation… The social and technology ramifications of how it’s impacting our kids in our society is real, and when I see these stories, I can’t help but think about the knowledge that needs to be out there readily and available to young men and women who don’t know what to do, where to turn, or where to go. And so, I just think of our players and other people impacted by this and I want to make sure they know we’re here for them.”
The discussion eventually circles around a message from Todd Roy to those, especially in their 20s, confused and looking to find their way: “Hang in there. It gets better.”
