OpTic Gaming Secures Los Angeles Call of Duty Franchise Spot
By Nicholas Barth ·
The upcoming Call of Duty franchise esports league will see OpTic Gaming representing Los Angeles, California.

OpTic Gaming is known as the most popular esports organization when it comes to Call of Duty, so members of the Call of Duty esports community have been anxiously awaiting to hear what city OpTic Gaming would be the representative of in the new franchise league for the legendary first-person shooter franchise in 2020. This curiosity was answered on Monday, July 1st when it was announced that Immortals Gaming Club, the parent company of OpTic Gaming, had secured the Los Angeles, California franchise spot.
Many members of the community believed that OpTic Gaming would be a representative of a franchise spot in Texas, as the organization and its operations have been located in the state for some time. However, it has been confirmed that the Greenwall will be heading out West in order to make Los Angeles the face of the 2020 Call of Duty esports league.

The Los Angeles franchise spot will be the central focus of the OpTic Gaming organization, as a majority of the organization has been reshuffled, and other areas will soon be rebranded to Immortals thanks to OpTic's parent company of Infinite Esports and Entertainment being bought by Immortals Gaming Club. Due to OpTic's extreme level of popularity and reach in the Call of Duty esports scene, Immortals Gaming Club felt it was best if the Greenwall represented Immortals Gaming Club in the new league instead of being rebranded to Immortals in the same manner as the OpTic Gaming League of Legends team.
"By participating in the city-based model, we recognize the opportunity that the new Call of Duty esports league creates for us to tap into two existing sources of affinity: regional or city-based pride, and affinity for Call of Duty itself," said Immortals Gaming Club CEO Ari Segal in a press release. "Call of Duty League also allows us to scale the relationships we’ve been fortunate to build with both Activision Blizzard Esports leadership and senior management into a new and largely distinct market segment.”
In addition to the announcement of OpTic Gaming securing the Los Angeles franchise spot, it was also revealed on July 1st that the Minnesota franchise location has been secured by WISE Ventures, an investment fund owned by Gary Vaynerchuck.
