Historic Night Driver and River Raid Records Set

There have been plenty of impressive gaming records set over the years, but it never gets old to see new ones rise and show off the skills of the players who were able to attain them. Two of the most recent records set in the Twin Galaxies community have come by way of fan-favorite games Night Driver and River Raid in what were two monumental achievements for the players involved.

The two players who are responsible for these two new Night Driver and River Raid records are Twin Galaxies community members Doron Gronski and Garret Holland.

Doron was able to become the first player to submit a score of over 1,000 points without any crashes with his 1,046 performance. Holland was able to get his name in the record books for River Raid when he secured the first TGSAP-verified 1,000,000 score on River Raid for the Atari 2600.

The 1,046 point performance from Doron eclipsed the previous Night Driver record of 954 points for the vintage Atari title. Doron has also been achieving plenty of other records with his fellow countrymen from Israel in a variety of games that show the love of arcade preservation and record-setting is as strong as ever around the globe.

Preceding 1,000,000 River Raid score claims were either debunked or removed from the Twin Galaxies database due to a lack of proof of them being legitimately done. However, Holland provided a treasure trove of video proof to legitimize his historic performance.

2019 played host to some fantastic record-setting performances with 2020 expected to continue to deliver even more for the Twin Galaxies from around the world to celebrate.
