Scoreboard Spotlight: Willster Outcooks Cooking Mama & More!

We know that many readers might still be recovering from too much turkey over the last few days, which is the perfect reason to relax by reading about virtual meatballs! Don't worry, you don't have to eat them, but you can read all about that incredible feat along with other gaming highlights in this week's edition of the Scoreboard Spotlight. We'll dig in with some turtle-approved pizza, followed up by a serving of “blink and you'll miss it” boxing, unbelievable battles against galactic invaders, falling fish, and finally some speedy kitchen prep so let's go!

starsoldier1 – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan (Game Boy) – Points

starsoldier1 had pizza on the brain as he powered through Konami's 1990 action-platformer Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan for the Nintendo Game Boy. Battling Shredder's minions across five stages, starsoldier1 vanquished Krang and freed April to clinch a new personal best of 28,640 points. Cowabunga!

Peter Nadalin – Super Punch-Out!! (SNES) – Fastest KO/TKO of Nick Bruiser

It was all a blur for poor Nick Bruiser after Peter Nadalin stepped into the ring for a TG record on Super Punch-Out for the SNES (PAL region). After 7.490 seconds, Nick was down for the count and Peter earned a tie for first place on the TG leaderboard.

J.M. – Super Earth Defense Force (SNES) –  PointsJ.M. made sure that the Azyma Empire paid a steep price for their attack on Earth playing Super Earth Defense Force for the Nintendo Super Famicom. Taking flight in the XA-1 fighter, J.M drove out the invaders on the far side of the moon and destroyed their doomsday weapon for a TG world reord score of 10,611,500 points, beating the previous high score set in 2006 by 351k.

Don Atreides – Sunday Funday – Fish Fall (NES) – Points

On movie night, Don Atreides doesn't like to mix fish with his popcorn and the same rule applies to his recent run on Wisdom Tree's 1995 release Fish Fall for the NES. In fact, Don expertly handled the goal of saving fish through 17 stages before wrapping up his high score in newspaper with a final tally of 13,150 points, beating the previous record by 3k.

Willster – Cooking Mama (Nintendo DS) – Meatballs

Willster showed the world how amazing it is to make meatballs with a stylus on Cooking Mama for the Nintendo DS. Taking the virtual ground beef, Willster whipped up 30 meatballs before the timer hit zero to claim a new TG world record, beating the previous record from 2017 by one meatball.

This covers our Scoreboard Spotlight for this week. As a reminder, these were just a few of exceptional records that were adjudicated and accepted recently. Every record that made it through verification and landed on our leaderboards has a well-deserved place in the Twin Galaxies gaming pantheon.
