Nintendo Responds to Switch Game Censorship, Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Teases, and more!
www.ign.com filed a new report today.
Author: Tom Phillips
Nintendo clarified that while it requires games on the Switch to meet rating and content guidelines, it does not alter developers' material; the default Visual Censorship setting in the adult-humor game *Dispatch* was enabled by the developer in cooperation with Nintendo to satisfy those guidelines. The setting covers nudity, genitalia and profanity with black boxes and mutes sex sounds, a restriction not present on other platforms, leading to speculation that Japanese rating standards may have driven the universal censorship. Fans note inconsistencies, citing other Switch titles like *The Witcher 3* that remain uncensored.
